These PIAs were responsive to a May 2024 freedom of information request under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for PIAs from 2014-2024. The following note was included regarding why certain information was severed and why there were not more PIAs:
“Some of the records requested contain information that is excepted from disclosure under the Act. The redacted information is excepted from disclosure under section 15(1)(l) of the Act. Severing/redaction was necessary because the information is related to security measures for any property or system, including a building, a vehicle, a computer system or a communications system.
College of the Rockies is currently working on the implementation of a Privacy Management Program. The small volume of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) included in this response package and sent to you on July 17, 2024 are the only PIAs currently completed by the College. Prior to November 2022, BC legislation did not require PIAs to be completed. The College is working to implement processes that ensure PIAs are completed on a routine basis going forward.”
