The Canadian Privacy Library is under threat! On July 5th, 2024, Langara College demanded the Microsoft Office 365 PIA on this page be removed within 24 hours. This PIA, provided by Nicola Valley Institute of Technology in response to a Freedom of Information request, was removed from this page for 6 days. On July 11th, after consulting with pro bono counsel, the Canadian Privacy Library restored the PIA. On July 19th, Langara College’s lawyers sent a cease and desist letter again demanding its removal. The PIA will stay.
The Microsoft Office 365 PIA above references two PIAs conducted by the British Columbia Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services. They were published on the British Columbia Open Government portal and are part of the Canadian Privacy Library collection.
