The PIAs on this page came from a May 2024 freedom of information request under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Royal Roads University has heavily redacted information related to how personal information is protected. The reason provided is FIPPA Section 15, which allows redaction if it would be harmful to law enforcement and Section 20. When asked why there were only 3 PIAs from 2014-2018, we received the following response:
“Prior to the amendment of FOIPPA in late 2021, extended / non-ministerial public bodies were, with a few exceptions, under no legal obligation to perform a Privacy Impact Assessment.”
